Blending with Distress Inks

I have been meaning to try this for ages but have only just got round to it following a demo I saw on the TV. I had all the stuff, inks and blending tool so there really was no excuse.

first things first the best thing to put on your desk is a silicon sheet, failing that some paper you have no further use for.

The trick is to pick up the ink on the blending pad and start rubbing, in circles, from off the paper or card you want to colour. It is the ‘off the card’ start that is so important, this stops you getting heavier blocks of ink and also stops hard edges.

Start gently just rub until you have the amount of ink you want. Then choose a toning in20091028_20k to add some depth. The card I made has 2 examples of this, the colour round the stamp and the mat behind the image. The mat was gently spritzed with a mister, not sure that shows as it is quite subtle. I will try some more another time.
